Training & Development Specialist II Kaylee King Receives Employee-Owner of the Quarter Award

Please join us in congratulating Kaylee King on receiving the Employee-Owner of the Quarter (EOQ) award! The EOQ award recognizes and shows appreciation to an employee-owner who demonstrated exceptional performance over the previous quarter.

We’re thrilled to spotlight Kaylee, who joined the ONEIL team in October 2023 as a Training & Development Specialist II.

In an impressive display of expertise and dedication, Kaylee completed an entire training course in just 2 weeks for a rapid development project supporting MSI Defense. This course is crucial for the Electronic Advanced Ground Launcher System (EAGLS) Counter UAS (C-UAS) Modular Systems, providing vital training for warfighters in combat zones.

According to Walter White, Kaylee’s manager, “Kaylee is a stellar employee who brings vast skills, knowledge, and experience to the team, making her an invaluable resource. She readily accepts all challenges and continually makes a positive impact on productivity. I look forward to her growth at ONEIL.”

Kaylee’s commitment to her work shines through in every project she undertakes. She has earned high praise from our customer for her exceptional performance, highlighting her remarkable speed and attention to detail.

Her positive, outgoing attitude makes her a joy to work with, and she consistently goes above and beyond to meet challenges head-on.

Kaylee embodies the qualities of an outstanding employee, making her truly deserving of the EOQ honor.

Congratulations, Kaylee, on this well-deserved recognition!

Briefly share your career trajectory and what originally brought you to ONEIL.
In 2011, I worked for an automotive finance company that specialized in financing vehicles for people in the military. I worked there for almost 9 years before the company unfortunately closed their doors. I started at an entry level position for insurance/administrative duties but quickly was promoted to contract processing into a leadership role, where I managed the “select” team, which was a designated team of top performers. During that time, I noticed the large training gaps and inefficiencies that revolve around training. I created onboarding and ongoing training for the department, which led to the company making me the training and development specialist for the entire company. I handled all onboarding training, ongoing training, and development of eLearning courses and management of the Learning Management System (LMS). Throughout that process is where I developed my passion for learning and development. After the company closed their doors in 2019, I took a break from work to be a stay-at-home mom. I worked part time here and there when my daughter was old enough to go to school, then in 2023 I received a message from ONEIL asking if I would be interested in this position. After reading the description and finding out how flexible and accommodating ONEIL was, it was an easy decision to jump right back into it.

What do you enjoy most about your work at ONEIL?
I enjoy the company culture at ONEIL and the people I work with are great. I love how we get to work on various projects versus other training positions where you are pretty much training on the same topics repeatedly. You never know what is going to be next here. It can definitely be a challenge sometimes, but it’s well worth it to get the versatility.

What motivates you to go above and beyond in your role?
I always try to give 110 percent in everything I do; that is just who I am. If the company does well, then you will do well. I strongly believe you should always treat your work like you are the owner. Since ONEIL is an employee-owned company, this rings even more true. The leadership team here is very encouraging and supportive as well, which inspires me to excel as much as possible. Knowing the training we provide has a significant impact on mission success and potentially saving soldiers in critical situations is a powerful motivation.
